Description
Summary:碩士 === 義守大學 === 工業工程與管理學系碩士班 === 96 === Airplane maintenance works are usually required to be completed within a limited time, yet with limited human resources. The time efficiency in executing the tasks, meanwhile, directly influences the profitability of the airline companies. Good schedule control techniques can effectively shorten the time required for the tasks and improve the profitability of the company. The efficiency in “Project Management” for airplane maintenance, therefore, is now becoming increasingly important. In terms of project management, it is expected that the project will be completed punctually if all the tasks under the project can be finished on schedule. Based on a survey conducted by Standish Group in 2000, however, it was found that 23% of the projects were suspended or cancelled before completion and 64% of those completed were not done as scheduled. Among the projects completed, there was, on average, 45% excess costs and a 63% delay in schedule. It leads to the conclusion that the schedule control techniques used for the conventional project management are not sufficiently effective to properly solve the resource conflict problems caused by limited resources. In this study, we select to study the effectiveness of introducing the critical chain based project scheduling techniques into the airplane maintenance models. Through case studies, we endeavor to find the methods to optimize the efficiency through the critical chain based project scheduling techniques. The results of our study are consolidated, so as to provide recommendations on an effective scheduling system to meet the requirements of airplane maintenance projects.
