碩士 === 義守大學 === 資訊管理學系碩士班 === 96 === With the booming of computers and information technology, and the continuous invention and progress in technology, PDA has gradually become more popular and carried more functions. Because it has a small size, powerful functions, and is easy to carry, its applications and functionality have increase. Our study continues from previous desktop electronic map system and tries to convert it to a PDA system. Previous version is for VB6, and the new one is for VB.NET(Visual Studio .NET 2005) intelligent device. Our project is to find out the process that needs the least time for conversion. We find that a two phase conversion is the most appropriate one. Phase one is the automatic conversion from VB6 to VB.NET desktop, followed by manual modification, which is needed because of the major change from pre- .NET to .NET framework. Phase two is the manual conversion from desktop to intelligent device, which is needed because the latter has much less hardware resource and therefore it makes a lot of change on user interface and removes much library support. We are able to get a very good control and save a lot of time in the process, after our careful planning on the program framework.
