Miniaturized and wide frequency range suppressed ultra wideband bandpass filters are implemented by using dumb-bell and complementary split ring resonators. In addition, magnetic coupling slot lines and double cut complementary split ring resonators are used to improve high frequency attenuation of multi-mode ultra wideband bandpass filters. This thesis contains two parts: design of bandpass filters and their implementations.Different types of defected ground structures are used to improve the performances of the filters or used as resonators. Full wave simulator IE3D is employed to simulate the frequency responses of the designed bandpass filters. The designed filters are fabricated on FR4 substrates and the frequency responses of the implemented filters are measured by the network analyzer.
