On the other hand, block coplymers based on the same monomers were prepared by Stille coupling approach. All of the copolymerwere then characterized with FT-IR, 1H-NMR, TGA, DSC, UV-Vis, PL, and CV, etc. FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectra confirmed the successful synthesis of all of the copolymer. TGA results showed increasing thermal stability with increasing ratio of n-type monomer. DSC curves indicated the elevated Tgs were due to the rigid structure of n-type monomer. UV-Vis spectra showed red-shift when the mole ratio of n-type monomer increased. Photoluminescence spectra showed the luminescent intensities decreased with the increase of the mole ratio of n-type monomer. This was probably due to the heavy atom effect of thiophene group on the n-type monomer, resulting the quench effect of the luminescence. Cyclic voltammetry results showed LUMO values decreased with the increase of the mole ratio of n-type monomer. This phenomenon was consistent with the transporting function of n-type monomer. Consequently, the introduction of electron transporting groups into the copolymers would reduce the LUMO values of copolymers and improve the injection property of electrons.
