This project will develop a rolling prototype machine, which can manufacture a foil metal of 0.05 mm thick and 40 mm wide. The major tasks are as follows: (1) A four-high rolling prototype machine for metal foils will be designed and manufactured, in which rolls made of ultra-strength alloys are used and the profile of the work rolls is determined by the self-developed mathematical model. (2) Using this self-developed rolling prototype machine, a series of experiments of aluminum copper, and stainless steel will be made. From the experimental results, the forming condition ranges for sound products will be discussed.
