Since then she engaged in the profession of letters——novels, prose, and poems for her following seventy-five years. Because of Taiwan''s martial law, works of literature from mainland China could be hardly appreciated. Bing Xing''s works seldom appeared in Taiwan. This study focuses on Bing Xing''s prose, hoping to explore Bing Xing''s position in Chinese modern literature , approving the values of her prose. There are six chapters in this research. The first chapter provides the motivations, objectives, methodologies and the main results of the study. The second chapter explores Bing Xing''s thoughts through her historical background, family background, and intergrated studies of Chinese and western culture. These analyses serve as fundamental knowledge for further studies of Bing Xing''s prose. The third chapter deals with the stages of Bing Xing''s prose which is made up of four parts. Part one, the early phase(1919—1930): Creative writing for love. Part two, the medium-term(1931—1951): Ccreative writing for life. Part three, the later period(1952—1976): Creative writing for children. Part four, the advanced stage(1977—1994): Creative writing for the true, the good and the beauty. The fourth chapter analyzes the main theme of Bing Xing''s prose. She embodied her "philosophy of love"in extolling maternal love, childlike innocence and praise for nature. The fifth chapter dissects writing arts of Bing Xing''s prose and gives a conclusive study of three major traits peculiar to Bing Xing''s prose: language of "style of Bing Xing", depiction of female images and special aesthetic penmanship. The final chapter is the conclusion, summing up the analyses and examinations and giving a comprehensive and scientific appraisal of Bing Xing. Through the research of Bing Xing''s prose, we can categorize four achievements and values of her prose, namely, the feature of "philosophy of love", the feature of"style of Bing Xing", the ideal of female prose writing, and a pioneer of epistolary prose for children. Bing Xing''s prose has influenced readers and authors not only at her time but also the later generations. Therefore, her prose in Chinese modern literature is valuable and outstanding. 作者未提供 江惜美 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 307 zh-TW
