| Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 設計創作研究所碩士班 === 96 === Chinese classical furniture, which had great reputation in 19th century, is a distinguishing form in the world furniture system, and Ming furniture is one of the representative styles. Fine components with function and esthetics completely embody the esthetic concept and life style at that time. Concise form and structure show the splendid technique, and Ming artisans create outstanding works with dynamics and esthetics by tenon technique. However, the design which is based on previous sitting and lying postures is not really proper for current usage. Design is a creative behavior which depends on humanist so that using human’s feeling is the best way to know the correlation between seat and human.The research purpose is to discuss the form and spirit of Ming furniture, to verify its advantages through four models and an analysis of present products, and then to design a product which is consistent with current furniture.
