In this paper I tend to investigate the relationship between subculture and graffiti. Furthermore, I try to create a series of artworks in a stencil graffiti style with mixed media. The method of research is mainly based on literature review. The subjects of literature review includes graffiti background, adolescent subculture, western graffiti, Taiwan graffiti and stencil graffiti with the help of case study to complement this research. Based on the analysis of case study, I generalize the elements of outstanding graffiti artists'' graphic styles and re-make my artworks in a stencil graffiti style with the technique of computer graphics without the violation of the core value of stencil graffiti. Furthermore, I apply this stencil graffiti style to cloth cover media and try to establish an artwork style based on stencil graffiti as a symbol of subculture behavior in the form of mixed media. At the same time, the style described above will be examined by the patterns generalized from the literature review. Hopefully this thesis could be referral in artistic creation for future artists or designers. The expected results of this research are listed as follows : (1) Creating a stencil graffiti style with the technique of computer graphics and apply the images of behavior patterns from native Taiwan subculture with the mix of semiotic symbols in order to present the issues associated with non-mainstream culture. The ultimate goal is to convey the sentiments of Taiwan locality through artwork creation, instead of a mere mimicry of Western graffiti style. (2) Figure out the distinction between Chinese and Western graffiti and explore the definition of graffiti and the relationship between the causes of adolescent subculture and graffiti art. Keywords: graffiti, stencil graffiti, subculture, mixed media. 作者未提供 卓展正 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 143 zh-TW
