Due to the digitization of surveillance system, the secure quality has to be improved. Thus, searching the useful information and how to transit it by the surveillance system will become the new trend in the future. The basic of this research use MySQL database and resort to the LongBLOB type for recording file store. The first, we use MFC project to develop multimedia database, connecting and controlling it via the MyODBC. The second, the recording file is retrieved to make face and motion detection by Open CV libraries. Finally, these metadata and record files will be stored into MySQL at the same time. All in all, it is efficient and can save a lot of time while we search database by these metadata in MySQL. Likewise, this research enhances the reliability of record file as well. The Multimedia database is also tested for system efficiency. In this experiment, we have made a test to write lots of recorded data into a database. The experiment results show that the average writing speed is 12.2MB per second. Furthermore, we count the CPU usage as well. These results can be a good reference for the sever hardware requirement of the surveillance system.
