Studies on the Insect Community of Sporobolus virginicus (L.) Kunth – Bolboschoenus planiculmis (F. Schmidt) T. Koyama Vegetation in Taichung County Gaomei Wildlife Refuge

碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 昆蟲學系所 === 96 === The study was investigated from June, 2006 to November, 2007. The sampling site was demarcated for 5 plots by the creeks that put to marine, and 3 zones by the different distances from the bank. Insect community was studied by net sweeping every 2 months, totally 10,598 individuals belonging to 62 families and 10 orders were identified. There are 44 morpho-species were described and photographed. The individual number of Diptera is 7,921 (74.7%), the largest group. The second group is Homoptera, included 1,459 individuals (13.8%). Other 8 orders were not exceeded 10% in the percentage of individualSp. Individual number decreased by the distance from bank. To the number of family, Diptera comprised of 29 families, is the top group. The second one is Coleoptera, comprised of 11 familieSp. The theoretical percentage of family numbers are 15.3% and 22.6% respectively, the collected percentage of family numbers are 24.6% and 6.6%. In this study, based on the landscape ecology, the vegetation of SP. virginicus – B. planiculmis is a sink of insect community but not a source. The sink of other families were rare, and occurred occasionally, or immigrated by land wind from the paddy fields outside the bank. The vegetation of SP. virginicus – B. planiculmis is a source of Ephydridae and Chironomidae, based on their individual numbers and biological characters of salt adaptation. The insect community at the Vegetation of SP. virginicus – B. planiculmis is a typical insect community at salt marsh ecosystem.
