The purpose of this study is to discuss the relationship among gender, levels of parents’ education and adolescents’ body images, as well as the relationship between adolescents’ body images and the happiness of their lives. The data of the present study was collected from questionnaires filled by senior high school students and their parents by using Taiwan Educational Panel Survey, 2001, 5106 male and 5333 female students in total. The main findings are (1) There is a difference between gender and adolescents’ body image. About 66.3% of boys’ perceived body images agree with their BMI values, whereas only 40.7% girls’ perceived body images agree with their BMIs. (2) The students who perceive their figures in good shapes are happier than the students who perceive mistakenly themselves overweight. Implication of the study is discussed.
