碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 高階管理碩士在職專班 === 96 === The purpose of this study is to compare the male and female principals’ leadership style in junior high schools, teachers who teach in junior high schools in Kaohsiung county are selected as research objects. 400 questionnaires were sent to them from April to May of 2007 and 230 questionnaires were returned, deducting 8 invalid questionnaires, 222 effective questionnaires were collected. The questionnaire retrieve rate is 57.50%. The leadership style questionnaires were used to collect the data. The data processing method includes descriptive statistics analysis, reliability and validity analysis, Pearson product-moment correlation analysis, t test and one-way ANOVA et al. Through collecting and analyzing materials by studying of literatures and questionnaire investigation, the research comes to the following conclusions: 1. Gender role would have a distinct correlation with principals’ leadership style. 2. The distinction in length of staying in junior high schools and occupational levels of teaching earlier in their junior high schools would have distinct difference on moral traits and specialized knowledge. 3. The differences in occupational levels of teaching earlier in their junior high schools would have distinct difference on principals’ interpersonal relationship. 4. The differences in school area, school size and school history would not have distinct difference on principals’ leadership style.
