Ancient writers, through conscious literature creating, took prostitutes both as a symbol of social culture and as a media to care ordinary women. Ming Dynasty, in which humanism was rising, is a productive time that took earthy topics as writing materials. The work “Sen Yen” is the one which successfully depicted many different kinds of prostitutes. The characters represent not only the pornography life of people at that time but also the authentic ideology of society. In this paper, researcher puts the focus on “Sen Yen,” edited by Fen Mun Lung. This work is constituted by three parts: Yu Shi Min Yen (stories to teach people), Jin Shi Tuan Yen (stories to dissuade people), and Shin Shi Hen Yen (stories to arise people’s morality). Researcher selects relative stories to study how prostitutes live in Sun, Yun and Ming Dynasty and to look into what culture concepts prostitutes deliver. This paper is divided into six parts, and the abstracts are stated below: Chapter One Introduction Depict research motives, former research results and research methodology. Chapter Two The Brothel Culture and Background of Sun, Ynn and Ming Dynasty Discuss the origin of prostitutes and the social situation of Sun, Yun and Ming Dynasty from the point of politics, economy and culture. Chapter Three Prostitute lives, organizations and results in “Sen Yen” Analyze them from social culture and system to further picture prostitutes’ image and characteristics. Chapter Four The theme and character images in “Sen Yen” Analyze the motif of the stories and prostitutes images to present the model writing of “Sen Yen.” Chapter Five The culture meaning of the stories in “Sen Yen” Explore the culture meaning and reflect feminine problem based on pornography culture and Fen Mun Lung’s “Love” concept.
