In order to reduce the cost of personnel matters, “organization downsizing” has become the major approach used by corporations to look for a better growth of benefit. What it brings is not only the devastated consequences to the retrenched employees, but also makes the negative impact to survivors heavily. In this downsizing period of unrest, Chunghwa Telecom Company is a large corporation with complete scale. It had experienced the great change that run by government, which was considered a lifelong secure job originally, but become a privatization. Employees in Chunghwa Telecom Company affected by the shock of downsizing must be larger than in other company. Therefore, this study elects the case of Chunghwa Telecom Company to discuss about the relationships among perceptions of downsizing, organizational trust, teamwork, team conflict, and job performance and finds out the impact of survivors from downsizing. Furthermore, the study discusses how to reduce the negative impacts on survivors by downsizing. This research regards of Chunghwa Telecom Company as the target population and issues totally 600 questionnaires from north, central to south areas of Taiwan. There are 294 valid questionnaires received of them. By using the software of statistical analysis methods (SPSS12.0, LISREL), we get some findings as below: 1. Employees’ reception of downsizing influences organizational trust significantly. 2. Employees’ organizational trust influences teamwork significantly. 3. Employees’ organizational trust influences team conflict significantly. 4. Teamwork influences employees’ job performances significantly. 5. Team conflict influences employees’ job performances significantly. After cluster analysis and discrimination analysis, we divide the whole samples into two groups – the employees with high job performances and those with moderate job performances. Furthermore, we analyze these two groups by independent-sample t test to understand the differences of the means of all variables. The result indicates that the group with high job performances gets the higher means of “Receptions of Downsizing”, “Organization Trust”, “Teamwork and Team Conflict” than the group with moderate job performances.
