To complete this study, we use a certain company’s basic information to gather the related data for analyzing and then use the statistics methods like independent sample by t-test, person’s product-moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis to verify the hypothesis so as to explain the correlation between the fund performance and the fund managers’ personal characteristics and operating characteristics. The analysis results can serve as the references for the fund managers in making investment strategies and for the general public in selecting the investment targets. The empirical results of 17 samples for open form mutual funds which focus on stock targets in Taiwan market are shown as follows: Male fund managers perform better than female fund managers do; the fund managers with Bachelor degree perform better than the fund managers with master or doctor degree do; senior fund managers perform better than junior fund managers do; the cash reserve rate is negatively correlated to the fund performance; and the concentration degree of holding electronics stocks is positively correlated to the fund performance.
