Students of grade 4 class 1 in Taichung County Happiness elementary school are the main participants in this research, taking part in picture book teaching for ten weeks. The method of study was a quasi-experimental method .The outcome was analyzed by Non-parametric Statistics. And analyze the data through qualification statistics analysis from the curriculum feedback sheets and activity sheets to discuss the effects of the character education program. The results of the study as fellows: Ⅰ. The practicality of picture book based character education is feasible. Ⅱ. Picture book based character education can promote students’behavior in trustworthiness for each other 1. The student can be honest and keep promise. 2. The students can fit the action to the word, being a person of credibility. 3. The student is courageous to do the right things. 4. The student won’t betray his friends, being a person of trustworthiness. Ⅲ.Picture book based character education is very popular with the students. Ⅳ. Problems need to be settled. 1.The teaching method must be more diversified. 2. Thought making use of the character education teaching net or Council of Cultural Affairs the child the cultural building website, teachers can look for related draw to enrich the curriculum content. 3.The students must internalized " trustworthiness " concept needs to be, and practice it in life. Finally, according to the results, There some concrete suggestions to teachers, schools and future study for the character education.
