On the basis of life belief and with the coverage of Semiotics, the creation theory becomes the foundation of creation viewpoint analysis. Meanwhile, the theory is reinforced with the fractals of Chaos theory to include the same nature of art and science in the discussion and understanding in multiple fields of the modern visual world. Chapter 1 “Preface” is the summary of study content and direction. Chaos theory suggests the possibility that every kind of existence in the world (or existence of the physical essence) interacts with each other so as to match the complicated, diversified development of modern art, explaining the motives and development process which drive artistic creation. Chapter 2 “The Sequence of Thoughts regarding Theory” is divided into four sections. This chapter starts with Un-mittel-bar explained in Walter Benjamin’s Semiotics and leads to Chaos theory in order to explore the relationship among artistic creation, Chaos theory and Semiotics. The relationship is the theoretic foundation of this thesis and puts creation motives in words in a rational way. Of the chapter 3 “The Process and Analysis of Creation Development” is based on the creation concept of life belief. The life belief includes the integration of values of time, the ignorance of stereotype thinking, the responses to the environment, and so on. The author of the thesis, in the shoes of artistic creator, leads the reader of the thesis to experience the transformation of environment and time, and analyzes the principle framework, process and core concepts of serial creation with internal spiritual thinking and the vocabulary of Semiotics. Chapter 3 also clearly analyzes the process of creative thinking, connects the pursuit of Christianity, and regards artistic creation as the implementation of belief. The relationship between belief and art is the prerequisite drive of author’s creation. Chapter 4 “The Creative Format of Reality and Appearance” analyzes and explores the way in which objects are reorganized by realistic painting and transformed into the spiritual significance over appearance in the serial creation mentioned in this thesis. Structural signs become the real perception conveyed by the painting. The spiritual feelings from implementing the belief are concretized as creative concepts and generate the identifiable conditions of sign through the creative vocabulary of concrete painting, resulting in the expression of sign and the openness of this thesis. This thesis discusses the connection between the individual and time expressed during the period of 2004-2008 from the work “The Age of Innocence” to “From Three”, and also illustrates the development process and creative values during this period through the implementation of life belief out of artistic creation. The personal exhibition upon graduation “Reality and Appearance” is the evidence and effective expression for this thesis.
