Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立花蓮教育大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士班 === 96 === The main purpose of this research was to understand how a young child perceived his family interactions and relationships. Three questions were posed: through this young child's drawings, 1) how he interpreted his parents' family behaviors? 2) how he portrayed his interactions and relationships with his siblings? and 3) how he viewed his family surroundings? The researcher selected the case study method as the research design and conducted the research with the qualitative perspective. The case studied was a 5-year-old young child and the research took place at this child's home. Documents (including the case' 12 Kinetic-Family-Drawings, his previous learning files, and the researcher's field notes), observations (including 12 non-participant type and 3 participant type), and interviews(12 formal ones with the case and many informal ones with his parents) were the data collection methods. After coding and analyzing the data, conclusions were drawn. The research quality was checked by triangulation, member checking, and peer debriefing. Three sets of conclusion were found, as follows: 1. The case's perception of his parents' family behaviors: The young child felt at ease with both parents; however, he perceived his father as the one parent giving him more security and being powerful and easy-going, while his mother as a parent somewhat detached so as to desire more warmth and love from her. The family interactions and relationships fit with the “authoritative-reciprocal” type. 2. The case's perception of sibling interactions and relationships: The young child could differ between sexes and viewed his elder brother as his ball-game teacher/coach, while his other older brother and sister as good play-partners. The sibling interactions and relationships fit with the “pro-social” type. 3. The case's perception of his family surroundings: The young child considered the yard in front of the house as a place to run around, play tennis and hold other outdoor activities, while the space inside the house as a place for parents to work and cook, and for the family to watch television, use the computer, and sleep. He revealed a little insecurity towards the family surroundings. The researcher then provided some suggestions to preschool educators, the case's parents, and future researchers.
