It would be a huge time and labor-consuming job deploying a great number of maintenance workers to inspect or check whether the posts are functioning well respectively, such as checking its working-electricity circuit conditions of switch boxes during the nighttime working hours. At present, local governments in Taiwan have been mostly employing electricians doing this kind of repair, maintenance works. In order to reduce the cost on aforementioned works and maintenance time and thus could efficiently promote better quality of services for citizens, this paper provides the authorities with a street-lighting auto-monitoring system. Judging from the cost and convenience, it is better to economically measure circuits within the switch boxes than going to spots when a malfunction is taking place due to an abnormal electrical current change. The street-lighting-post measuring module can sense out the number of how many out-of-ordered lighting posts and then transmit these signals to the control center by GPRS. The control center will then decide whether to send an electrician to the site to fix it or not. According to appendix B, the input electrical voltage affects the variation between the luminance and the electrical current. We may face two questions as followed when using current-measuring method to detect malfunctioned streetlights. Firstly, it may have a false alarm and inconsistent working current due to using various brands of 230V light bulbs and condensers. Secondly, the input voltage of power supply from Tai Power Company normally higher than 220V and its frequent changing voltage are not stable which will also cause a false alarm. Without extra spending on additional hardware, we adopt the electrical-current and electrical-voltage measuring method (S=VI)to check out the malfunctioned street posts. A bulb and a condenser of a street post allow a variation of input voltage with ±10 % thus the change of electrical current and voltage(S=VI)will also be following up. For instance, the VI amount of a 200W lighting post circuit will reduce from 180 to 220VI where a 400W lighting post circuit will reduce 360 to 440VI. The street-lighting auto-monitoring system can tell where malfunction is taking place through the comparing with the aforementioned numbers. Jen-Rong Lee 李振榮 學位論文 ; thesis 151 zh-TW
