Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 教育學系 === 96 === The Analects of Confucius is considered the Chinese classic that can best represent Confucianism. The Chinese people cultivate their moral character and associate themselves with others according to the message of the book. Due to there are very few studies related to Confucianism on life education, this study aims to explore the theoretical based on Chinese culture of life education in Taiwan ; especially focus on the philosophy of life from the Analects of Confucius. The conclusions of this study are listed thereinafter: 1.The contents of the Analects of Confucius have seven categories: the cultivation of personality, the ethic of society, the thoughts of politics, the thoughts of education, the character of Confucius, the comments from Confucius, and the students of Confucius. 2.Three themes of the philosophy of life in the Analects of Confucius are existence and life, life and socialization, and the end of life care and the reconciliation between God and man. 3.Among the three themes above, life and socialization is the mostly addressed while existence and life is the least. 4.We should not conclude the death-related issues with the famous quote “ If one does not know anything about life, how could it be possible to know about death?” Instead, we should put emphasis on the attitude expressed in another quote, “Be prudent in mourning and always remember those who had passed away.” and also the ambition to live beyond the boundary of life. 5.The contents of the Analects of Confucius haven't been entirely generalized with the three themes of the Philosophy of Life. However, further research can be done to see whether there are such possibilities. 6.The Philosophy of Life in the Analects of Confucius corresponds to most of the issues in the life education curriculum. For those which seem unrelated, more research is needed. 7.The correspondence between the Philosophy of Life in the Analects of Confucius and three issues of life education is as follows: “existence and life” is the least while “ life and socialization ” is the most related to the three issues of life education. Specifically, “ the end of life care and the reconciliation between God and man” is highly related to “ the issue of the end of life”. 8.The ethic and morality expressed by the Philosophy of Life in the Analects of Confucius are slightly different from those in the life education curriculum. The former tends to deal with interpersonal relationships with a virtuous attitude but the latter seeks for a standard of value judgment . 9.The implications of the Philosophy of Life in the Analects of Confucius in life education are the concerns for life and death, the wisdom of association with others, and the cultivation of personality and morality. 10.It was found that the nature of this book is a reflection of daily life experiences. Many major ideas have been internalized and expressed in our behaviors and value systems. Therefore, we can foresee a big success in promoting life education in Taiwan if the philosophy of life in the Analects of Confucius is well propagated to the general public. Based on the conclusions, suggestions are offered for the course of life education and the occasion to use it, the revision of the fundamentals of life education curriculum, and future studies.
