It demonstrated the differences of mentioned characters by variance of students' background. The analysis of this research was based on quentionaire survey method including 877 students (448 boys and 429 girls). The results were analyzed with descriptive statistics, T-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Product-moment correlation, Stepwise Regression Procedure. The conclusion and findings were listed as follows: 1. The current condition of shyness traits, interpersonal relationship and attitudes toward life of 5th and 6th grade elementary school students in Kaohsiung County is positive. 2. There were significant differences in “shyness traits” between boys and girls. Girls possessed higher scores than boys. 3.There were significant differences in “interpersonal relationship” between boys and girls. Girls possessed higher scores than boys. 4.There were significant difference in “attitudes toward life”. Girls possessed higher scores than boys. The sequence of birth showed significant difference in self-acceptance. Elder children scored more than single child. There were significant differences in “attitudes toward death” for students in different family types. Students in big family scored higher than students in single-parent family. 5. There was a negative correlation between “shyness traits” and “interpersonal relationship”. There was a negative correlation between the single and overall variables of “shyness traits” and “attitude toward life”. There was a positive correlation between “interpersonal relationship” and “attitudes toward life”. 6. The shyness traits and interpersonal relationship of elementary school students could predict their attitudes toward life, with the most predictable variable in “relatinship with friends”. Based on the above findings, both practical and academic suggestions were provided. 蘇素美博士 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 172 zh-TW
