Summary:碩士 === 國立台北護理學院 === 護理研究所 === 96 === The purpose of this study was using grounded theory to develop the descriptive theory about successful experiences of reducing body weight among perimenopausal women. Women were recruited by purposive sampling from one weight reduction center of hospital. These women who were in perimenopause or menopause, BMI>27 ,weight loss more than 3-4kg during weight reduction program and did not weight regain at least 8 weeks after program were invited. They were interviewed to share their life experiences and process of weight reduction. The constant comparative method was used to analyze contents until the data were saturated and dense. 10 women were at the age of 47 to 58, were recruited by in-depth Interview. ‘Seeking for new health life and leaving the old was the core category for describing and guiding the process of reducing their body weight. .During this process, ‘Health red light of aggressively reducing body weight’ and “repeatedly self-weight loss failure were identified as the antecedent condition. Once the woman became aware that they should lose their body weight by consulting profession of weight reduction, they would begin the process of “Seeking for new health life”. This process would be marked by action and interaction among the categories of supporting to each other’, ‘the impact in process of reducing weight’ and ‘learning the techniques of reducing weight’. Throughout this process women viewed loss of body weight as “‘seeking for new health life and leaving the old”. Finally, women would make efforts to maintain their new healthy life to prevent from body weight regain. The current study suggested that the health data would promote the motivation of women’s weight reduction. There were some important strategies to help women on the ways of maintaining new health life and leaving the old for the successful body weight reduction such as Supporting, encouragement and learning weight reduction techniques. In addition, hospital-based weight reduction program would promotion their media advocacy as the main stream of leading healthy weight reduction. Hopefully, the results and suggestions would provide important references for the health care of body weight reduction of perimenopausal women to do more comprehensive consultation for healthy body weight reduction.
