碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 美術學系碩士班 === 96 === Abstract In the representation of sculptures, it’s an important subject to express space interactions and also the most direct way to connect with viewers. This research is through applying and analyzing materials used in representing sculpture forms, form elements and concrete elements and uses “void and solid relationships” to be main independent variables. Therefore, the main construction in this study tried to extend more discussion and analysis from the four dimensions: artwork, materials, humanity, and light-shadow which mean artwork itself represented by form elements, materials owned its unique characteristics, light-shadow created an interaction between artwork and viewers and humanity who extend their different ideas when look at artwork in certain spaces and those construct the idea of “void and solid –the dialogue forum between humanity and artwork”. In the specific practice, the artwork in this research is classified into three series of network, light-shadow and contemplation and the researcher gets four conclusions as follows through his experiments and experiences while creating and representing his artwork. 1. The representation form and idea of artwork in “void and solid relationships” is identified by viewers’ comprehension and observation. 2. The materials characteristics can emphasize its emotionality of artwork presented in “void and solid relationships” through artists’ applying. 3. Light-shadow not only indicates the form of concrete artwork, but builds up the bridge which is to connect humanity, idea and artwork. 4. Humanity and artwork will produce certain identification which inspires to create more new dialogue forum.
