Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 教育學系 === 96 === This paper is aimed at investigating the awareness and it’s associated action for public arts on campus of elementary school teachers in Taichung city. The methods used in this research include document analysis and questionnaire survey. In total, 340 questionnaires were sent out and 248 of them were completed. The effective rate of the sampling was 72.9%.The retrieved data was processed by mean, t-test, Z-test,χ2 analysis, Spearman rank correlation. The findings of this research are as followings: 1. Elementary school teachers in Taichung city have high awareness for public arts on campus ;yet, there is still a great possibilities for improvement in understanding the information source for public arts on campus. 2. The elementary school teachers in Taichung city have better awareness than implementation for public arts on campus. 3. The elementary school teachers in Taichung city believe the public arts on campus own versatile functions. 4. The ranking of the associated action of the public arts on campus for elementary school teachers in Taichung city is: vision of the school; features of the school; school-based curriculum of the school; principal’s goals to run the school; history of the school, and the provinciality. 5. The majority of elementary school administrators in Taichung city agree to simplify the processing procedure for the public arts on campus. Moreover, most of elementary school administrators in Taichung city agree that the representation of the jury or the implementation team surpasses their specialty. 6. Portions of the fund for the public arts on campus should be used for maintenance. 7. Higher authorities and schools at different levels should have public arts-associated training programs for teachers. 8. The elementary school administrators in Taichung city agree to raise NTD three hundred thousands for a “Public Art Fund” to overall plan the public arts on campus. 9. There are conflicts between administrators and public art workers as constructing up the arts on campus. 10. The people that administrators seek for help for public arts mostly are artists. Finally, the author offers the elementary school teachers in Taichung city and the public art on campus administration authorities several valuable suggestions.
