First, the purpose of this study was to investigate the current situation of the elementary schools about principals’ leadership behavior and school crisis prevention. Secondly, the study compared the options from different background variations about the principals’ leadership behavior and school crisis prevention of elementary school educational staffs. Thirdly, the study was to search the realationship between principals’ leadership behavior and school crisis prevention, and the last, this study discussed the predications between principals’ leadership behavior and school crisis prevention. To achieve the main purpose, a total of 60 elementary schools, 462 subjects were sampled from Taichung City, and 367 of them are considered as effective. The usable percentage was 79.44%. According to literature review, the ”Questionnaire of Elementary School Principals’ Leadership behavior and School Crisis Prevention” was developed for research. The data from the questionnaire were statistically by the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, product-moment correlation analysis, stepwise multiple regression analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1. The principals’ leadership was perceived initiating structure of principals’ leadership behavior by educational staffs in Taichung City. 2. The school crisis prevention was perceived above average degree by educational staffs in Taichung City. 3. Because of different teacher’s position, age and the history of school, the teachers in the elementary school have different awareness of principals’ leadership behavior. 4. Because of different teacher’s position, age, the size of school and the history of school, the teachers in the elementary school have different awareness of school crisis prevention. 5. There was significant positive correlation between consideration and initiating structure of principals’ leadership behavior and school crisis prevention. 6. The predications between consideration of principals’ leadership behavior and school crisis prevention were well. According to the conclusions, recommendations for educational agencies, principals of elementary schools, school staffs and future researchers are as follows. 1. For educational agencies (1)Organize seminars of principals in order to develop multiple leadership. (2)Establish the evaluation system of school crisis prevention. (3)Guide and assist new schools about measures of school crisis prevention. 2. For principals of elementary schools (1)Show consideration of principals’ leadership behavior to construct good communicating environment. (2)Show initiating structure of principals’ leadership behavior to strengthen education of safety and improve teachers’ professional knowledge. (3)Perform duty of teachers shift to increase the consciousness of crisis prevention of them. (4)Clearly distinguish rights and responsibilities to accelerate the speed of organization communication. 3. For elementary school staffs (1)Establish good communicating channel with school to get the sign of crisis efficiently. (2)Participatie the work of school crisis prevention positively and provide suggestions for school timely. (3)Strengthen the consciousness of crisis in order to reduce the crisis incidents.
