Test samples are sixth grade students from Taitung County, Tainan City, Tainan County, Kaohsiung City, and Kaohsiung County with a total number of twenty-seven schools included. 777 valid samples obtained. Statistical methods used include descriptive statistics analysis, T-Test, One-Way ANOVA, Scheffe Method, and Spearman rank correlation. Our conclusions include:(1) The sixth grade students who are interested in mathematics, have internet connections at home, or are from family with middle and above social-economic status are shown to perform better in information technology literacy. (2) The sixth grade students from different school districts do not show any significant differences in information technology literacy. However, students from large and mid size schools show better performances than students from small schools in information technology literacy. (3) Excluding computers, the average ownership of 3C devices among all students is 3.7. Students from Kaohsiung city and Tainan city possess more of such devices in average than those students from the area of Kaohsiung county、Tainan county and Taitung county. Suggestions of the author include:(1)Schools can provide learning opportunities to students by building up information technology platforms and by integrating social education resources such as the National Science and Technology Museum.(2)An establishment of Industrial-Academic cooperation to provide teachers and students opportunities in improving their information technology literacy by visiting Science Parks.(3)Focus on the education of information technology ethics and laws and regulations to establish a high quality information technology society.
