碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育經營與管理研究所 === 96 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the servant leadership of the director of academic affairs and teacher morale in elementary school of Tainan area. The methodology adopted in this study includes questionnaire survey and interview. The data analyzed were 545 teachers chosen by stratified random method and 6 interviewees selected for research purposes. Directors of academic affairs displayed over moderate level of servant leadership behavior while teachers had over moderate level working morale. There were significant differences of the response on the servant leadership of the director of academic affairs by respondents with different demographic variables of teacher’s length of service, school size and location of school. Respondents with different gender, age, teaching seniority, current position, school size, and location of service displayed different responses of teacher’s morale. There was moderate correlation between the servant leadership of the director of academic affairs and teacher morale, in which the leadership behaviors with foresight and demonstrations had the best predictability toward teacher’s morale. Finally, Recommendations were provided for the directors of elementary school affairs, teachers and researchers.
