It brought about positive meanings to the formation of a village when the army garrisoned. Therefore, Pi Tao developed preliminarily into such as “Bamboo Bridge Pi and Irritate Bamboo Bridge Field” in the middle of the Kangxi Emperor. Moreover, during the late Kangxi Emperor and the early Yongzheng Emperor, the Han people cultivated the plain of Ping-Tung. Then Pi Tao, a junction of transportation, became Fongshan’s largest street. However, the events of Lin Shuang Wen and Zhuang Ta Tian changed the of history of Xia Pi Tao Street. After several mass uprisings, Xia Pi Tao Street became the genuine county jurisdiction of Fangshan. During the government of Japan, Fangshan still maintains its pivot of politics and economic. Later, the importance of the junction of communications faded when the railway had built. In 1908, Da Gou harbour, a modernized harbour, was built due to the land reformation and urbane plan. It brought about rapidly development of Da Gou and then replaced Fongshan. Thereafter, under the guidance of the policy of entering in the south, Taiwan became the southern base of Japanese aggressor troop. Then the strategic position of Kaohsiung harbour was increasingly important. Fongshan, lying near the harbour of Kaohsiung, became the most important military strategic center of Kaohsiung area for its vast peripheral deployment. Since the development of overall area, Fongshan was merely a part of Kaohsiung military fort in the government of Japan. After the war, the government of Kaohsiung originated in Fongshan, and the military received a large number of military installations that Japanese left. In the end of 1949, The KMT government moved to Taiwan, and caused the following of a large number of armies and immigrants. Then Fongshan became the strategic position of the Army, therefore, its population rose progressively. Since the entry of numerous china armies and their family, Fongshan formed in another styles, echoed with Tsoying of Kaohsjung, and became the largest military life circle of southern Taiwan. After the 1980’s, Wu Jia population grew and changed the structure of Faogshan due to the establishment of industrial area near the sea. The Kaohsiung near sea industrial area is up to more than 2,400 hectares that can hold the staff above 370,000 people with their family according to the estimation of the related unit. The habitats included new community around the industrial area and the area of Wu Jia. Wu Jia area sped up its development for near the industrial area. Due to the setup of the industrial area, Fongshan’s population topped 300,000 people in 1994, and thus developed into the peripheral second-class core city of Kaohsiung.
