Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 工業教育學系 === 96 === The purpose of this research is to realize the type of public space and xenial interaction in the bed-and-breakfast (B & B). Two representative types of public space in B & B are selected. One is the coffee-house-type and another is the courtyard-type. Both of types with three cases in Jioufen area are engaged in field-work and comparative study. The results show as following: 1.Layouts of public space: Most landlords design the layouts of public space based on original building structure. The coffee-house-type B & Bs are rebuilt from old house recently. The courtyard-type ones are private-using and built ten years ago. 2.Functions and facilities of public space: All space of the coffee-house-type B & B is used with coffee shop and fills with variety layouts. However, the space the courtyard-type ones are too vague and ambiguous to summary. 3.Way of use and frequency: The coffee-house-type B & Bs are focus on business service, so the useful public space is limited. The courtyard-type ones are free if no specified ban. 4.Xenial interaction: In coffee-house-type B & Bs, landlords and lodgers interact animatedly at mealtime. In courtyard-type ones, they interact primary at foyer, parlor and lobby and secondly at restaurant, moving path and the space of activities. 5.Other relative factors: Most landlords are about 40 to 60 years old. Half of them start an enterprise owing to the requirement of lodging ten years ago. Most landlords own the house and land. Internet, web site or bulletin board system promote B & B’ s performance. The customers are mainly students and young people. Landlords pursue the goals of no finance pressure, gentle, clearing and progress.
