Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 美術學系在職進修碩士班 === 96 === The Multiple-case Study of Students in the Seven-year-coherent-college program of the Department of Fine Arts in Taiwan : Take the Learning Processes of Six Girl Students in Tainan University of Technology as a Case Study Abstract The seven-year-coherent-college program (SYCCP) of the Department of Fine Arts, which carried out the first enrollment in 2000 in Tainan University of Technology, is the only coherent program of the professional art education in Taiwan, and the only department of art in technical and vocational education (TVE). The purpose of this study is (a) to investigate the subjects’ learning processes in the seven-year-coherent-college program of the Department of Fine Arts, (b) to analyze the factors that influence the subjects’ learning processes in this program, and (c) to review the position of the seven-year-coherent-college program of the Department of Fine Arts based on the subjects’ learning processes in arts. According to the purpose of this study, six of the secondly enrolled SYCCP students are invited to be the subjects of this study, and two gatekeepers (the founder of SYCCP and the instructor of the second-year graduating class) as the study participants, to carry out semi-structured interview and organize as well as analyze the data. The conclusion acquired from this study is as follows: 1. The three different sorts of students, who have background of art education, planned orientation of arts, and regard arts as the shortcut to higher education, exhibited significantly different achievements of learning in SYCCP. 2. Learning process is influenced by various factors. Definite personal interests and orientation, as well as supports from family, form positive motivation. Besides, school environment affects a lot. The SYCCP presents “close but free atmosphere of study”- “free” comes from releasing the stress from entering a higher school, and the space of creation given by teachers’ teaching method to the subjects; “close” implies the atmosphere in the campus and the rare interaction with outside environment. 3. The attraction of SYCCP includes: it definitely releases the stress from entering higher schools; the emphasis on practice over theory in entrance exams, which has decided the category of students; the arrangement of curriculum is cumulative, coherent and various, but it is limited to the duration of study and the particularity in curriculum planning. However, the achievement examination for upgrading just leads to apparent results, and ignores the timing of examining real effects of students’ learning. In brief, this unique program in Taiwan has both advantages and disadvantages, and its final position still needs further discussion. Based on the conclusion of this study, some suggestions are provided to students, colleges, educational authority, and future studies for consideration.
