The ecological function and precaution against natural calamities of these offshore breakwaters are investigated. The contents of this research contain the constructional process of the offshore breakwater at Wu-Shi fishery harbor, and even the calamity of typhoon. We discuss the safety protection of offshore breakwater and ecological environment developed, and analyze the efficiency of offshore breakwater with site investigation and mechanical calculation. In the subject of safety protection, the damage of offshore breakwater caused by typhoon waves and the impact wave pressure are analyzed. In accordance with the analysis, to add more the artificial amours, protection concrete blocks and submerged breakwaters to raise safety is suggested. In the subject of ecological environment developed, the effect of ecological development of three types of offshore breakwater at Wu-Shi fishery harbor is investigated. It is relatively good for ecological function with the coastal structure nearby surface of water on regular waves. This research could understand the effect of offshore breakwater in the ecological function and precaution against natural calamities with different depth of water, and offer the results for domestic coastal engineering with practical reference.
