Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 海洋環境資訊學系 === 96 === The purpose of this study is to understand the basic concepts on ocean environment for students sampled from Jian De Junior High School in Keelung. The questionnaire including basic ocean knowledge and related physical, chemical, and geological concepts, is designed for the sampled students. A reliability test with Cronbach α coefficient is applied to confirm the content of questionnaire. Totally 479 effective questionnaires are adapted through analysis of descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Scheffe’s method to understand the relation between students’ background and their knowledge on ocean environments. The results indicate that the senior students have better understanding on ocean environments. Meanwhile, the student’s ocean environment knowledge is mainly from school courses. According to the variance analysis for different grade students, it is found that the basic ocean knowledge is highly related to student’s background for any grade students. Furthermore, for 7-grade students, their oceanic physical concept, oceanic chemical concept, geological concept, and overall oceanic concept are mainly related to father’s vocation, mother’s age, mother’s education, and parent’s education, respectively. For 8-grade students, only the overall oceanic concept has highly relation with father’s education and vocation. For 9-grade students, their oceanic related concepts (except physical concept) are all highly related to their father’s vocation. Meanwhile, the geological concept and overall concept are also related to their parent’s and mother’s education, respectively.
