A total of 21 species were collected in the estuary, including 11 grapsid species, 3 eriphiid species, 1 porcellanid species, and 4 species of hermit crab. The shore crab, Ptychognathus barbatus, was the most abundant species (representing the 55.6% of the total number of specimens). 33 species were recorded in the rocky shore, including 8 species of hermit crab, 4 porcellanid species, 1 portunid species, 1 goneplacid pecies, 7 eriphiid pecies, 4 xanthid species, and 1 grapsid species. The dominant species was Calcinus laevimanus (representing 41.2% of the total number of specimens) in the low and middle tidal zone, and Epixanthus frontails (representing 39.9% of the total number of specimens) was the dominant species in the high tidal zone. In the sandy shore, 9 species were recorded, including 6 ocypodid species, 1 mictyrid species, and 2 grapsid species. The dominant species was the fiddler crab Uca borealis (representing 80.1% of the total number of specimens). The diversity indices showed that the species richness of boulder shore (3.838) was the highest, 2.376 in estuarine shore and 1.137 in sandy shore. The diversity indices represented the species diversity of Homei was not rich. There were seasonal differences in the large crustacean community structure and abundance among the three kinds of coasts. Such variation, were mainly affected by temperature, typhoon and reproductive pattern of crabs. The community structure of large crustacean in estuarine shore has no significant difference between the tidal zonations, while boulder shore has significant difference between tidal zonations. In the sandy shore, the change in community structure between tidal zones was not great except during the reproductive season of the dominant species. Ping-Ho Ho K.K.
