碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 教育政策與管理研究所 === 96 === The study is aimed at finding out the life orientation and adaptation of retired elementary school teachers in Keelung City, and the findings of the study will be based to present suggestions for life orientation and adaptation of retired teachers, which may be a reference for interested parties and persons. This study is conducted through questionnaire survey. The tool of the survey is “Retired Elementary School Teacher Life Orientation and Adaptation Survey Questionnaire”, which is made through literature research. The research population is 320 retired elementary teachers of Keeling City and through such survey, it is hoped to gain understanding of the life orientation and adaptation of retired elementary school teachers in Keelung and to detect any significant difference between surveyed individuals with different background, and their correlation. The quantified data are analyzed in descriptive statistics, variance homogeneity examination and independent sample T-test, One-Way ANOVA, Pearson product-difference correlation analysis, step-wise regression analysis. The findings of the study are: 1.The retiring attitude, self-perception, social involvement and overall life orientation of retired elementary school teacher of Keelung City are positive and forward. 2.The physical adaptation, mental adaptation, social adaptation and overall adaptation are in good adaptation conditions of retired elementary school teacher of Keelung City. 3.Female retired teachers are more active in social involvement and social adaptation is better. 4.Younger retired teacher has forward and active life orientation and is better in adaptation. 5.Teachers retired for 3 years or less are with active and positive life orientation. 6.Voluntary retired teacher is more positive and active in life orientation and with good adaptation. 7.No significant difference in life orientation and adaptation between retired teachers of Keelung City with different marital conditions. 8.Retired teachers with better health condition have more positive and active life orientation and better adaptation than the poorer ones. 9.Retired elementary school teachers of Keelung City with different economic situation do not demonstrate significant difference in life orientation and adaptation. 10.Retired elementary school teachers of Keelung City with religious belief have more positive and active life orientation and are better in mental adaptation than those not. 11.Retired elementary school teachers of Keelung City with more positive retire attitude, the physical, mental and social adaptation are better overall than those less positive. 12.Retired elementary school teachers of Keelung City with more positive self-perception, the physical, mental and social adaptation are better overall than those less positive. 13.Retired elementary school teachers of Keelung City with more positive social involvement, the physical, mental and social adaptation are better overall than those less positive. 14.Retired elementary school teachers of Keelung City with more positive life orientation, the physical, mental and social adaptation are better overall than those less positive. Lastly, this study provides suggestions to government, school, retired teachers and future study for reference.
