Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 台灣文化研究所 === 96 === Folklores of Matsu are taken as the material of this research. This research adopted fieldwork to collect tales of varied regions in Matsu. Features and values of tales are explored through methods as follow: fieldwork, classification and analysis and performance theory. This research is composed by seven chapters, and contents of each chapter are summarized as follow: Chapter One: Introductions. This chapter contains sections as follow: purpose and motivations of the research, research methods, and literature review. Chapter Two: Natural surrounding and history of Matsu. This chapter presents the background information of Matsu. Starting from natural surrounding, and then proceed to history, demography, indigenous customs and traditions. Chapter Three: Stories and legends of places. This chapter presents folktales of various landscapes, such as stones, cave, valley, Fun-shui and pertinent tales. Tales of Fun-shui, Tai-pin Bout and Shui-fan are discussed in this chapter as well. Chapter Four: Pirates and treasure in Matsu. Stories of pirates are usually told in Matsu, which extended to stories of treasures. We can observe the feature and know better histories of folktales in Matsu. Chapter Five: Stories of gods and spirits. Folk belief and tales are combined for discussion. This research will investigate the sources and social significance of many tales of god and worships of animals. Chapter Six: Lecturing and spreading of folktales in Matsu. First of all, this research discusses the relations among Fujian, Changle, Lienchiang and all folktales, and the meaning of its long history. On the other hand, issues of background are discussed as well. The researcher will discuss effects of environments, and pertinent issues of folklore. At the end, this research discusses special lecturing activities, like tour guilds’ reformulation of folklores. From this aspect, relationship of modern folktales and touring can be observed. Chapter Seven: Conclusion. Classify cultural phenomenon of Matsu’s folklores, social value and significance of spreading.
