We must understand that the rapid growth in advance technology together with Taiwan’s gradual economic growth results in a generation of teenagers that demands instantaneous products. These teenagers are raised in the age of the internet that offers speedy feedback and are used to multimedia stimulation. The fact that photo sticker activity offers this instantaneous feedback is the best choice for their pastime.
Past research indicates that the difference in social classes and sexes amongst teenagers presents different teenage cultures; and that there is a constant conflict between teenager’s subculture and the mainstream culture. In many ways, photo sticker activity and what it offers provide teenagers freedom to be creative and to escape from the mainstream culture.
The main purposes of this research are:
1.To study the impact of photo sticker activity among teenagers.
a)How involved are teenagers in doing photo sticker activity?
b)What process is involved in completing a finished product of photo
stickers?
2.To investigate how photo stickers are presented.
a)What are the possible categorizations of photo stickers?
b)What does the final photo sticker image mean to its creator?
This research is conducted by in-depth interviews. I hope to understand the impact and meaning of photo sticker activity among teenagers through interviews and observations. This research results in the following conclusions:
1. Photo sticker activity is the virtual reconstruction of reality.
2. Photo sticker activity is a ritual.
3. Photo sticker activity is a non-realistic form of presentation.
4. Photo sticker activity is a memory stimulus.
