碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 造形設計學系玩具與遊戲設計碩士班 === 96 === The purpose of this research is to discuss the game preferences of the current console game players in Taiwan, and to compare the difference between male players and female ones. There are five research targets in this study: “Difficulty”, “Violence contents”, ”Reaction speed needing”, “Network functions”, and “Painting style.” In one thousand male and female players that were surveyed, they provided their like or dislike of each event in survey. A T-test is adopted to analyze the results. In the result of analysis, there are lots of significant differences in sub-items of “Violence contents” and “Painting style”. But in “Difficulty” and ”Reaction speed needing”, there are just a few sub-items with significant differences. There is no significant difference in sub-items of “Network functions”. The analyzed results in this study can provide references for game designers when designing console games for female players. The results of this study also can be applied to product development strategies, which decrease the costs and risks for female players’ market deployment.
