The main goal of this research hopes to more understanding the different ethnic policemen handle domestic violence in aboriginal, discusses if non-aboriginal policemen would different handling domestic violence cause victim’s ethnic groups? Analysis how aboriginal policemen handled the aboriginal case of domestic violence? And will aim at the future policemen handle domestic violence in aboriginal community to provide the suggestion for policy. This research carries on by depth interview and non-participant observation. I interview four Atayal and Han Chinese policemen from Sinchen police district on Hualian. The interview completed on October. This research discovered for the following point: 1、When policemen answered about cognitions of handling domestic violence, pattern of handling domestic violence, and policy of domestic violence does not different result of ethnic groups. But for the cognitions about aboriginal domestic violence, connection of domestic violence and ethnic culture, and effect of the policemen interfered aboriginal domestic violence in their districts contained differences, the influence of ethnic groups is exist. 2、The items within pattern of handling domestic violence. Atayal policeman had experience of arrest thought that the deterrence is an effective pattern, and replied about policy of domestic violence executing in aboriginal community have more positive point than other non-arrest experience policemen. Another two Atayal policemen thought social workers of medical pattern are more professional than policemen, and the policemen’s identity will be reject by victim. A Han Chinese policeman thought deterrent and medical need coordinate. This study suggests increasing victim’s interviews, participating the processes of handling domestic violence cases, and amplifying other aboriginal communities of research except for Hualian.
