Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 教育學系(所) === 97 === The study’s objective lies in exploring the intrinsic significance that the researcher turns to blogging after experience the hardship of losing his wife to death, and through exploring the underlying significance to attempt to identify the resilience process and its healing yield through the process of blogging. The study is built upon the foundation of the researcher’s literature accumulated from a year’s blogging and the viewers’ feedbacks, and the narrative analysis of a “comprehensive content” has been adopted to conduct the analysis, together with adopting the Nvivo 8.0 qualitative analysis software to facilitate in the analysis; the research findings are manifested as follows,
I. The self resilience process through the process of blogging:
The resilience process is analyzed by broaching from the traces leading to blogging and the time spent writing about the author’s deceased wife, which is divided into three stages,
1. The memory and searching stage
Trying to recapture the deceased wife’s meaning of existence, describing the deceased wife’s experiences and inspirations, searching for moving sensation in one’s life and reestablishing the value of faith has been the logger’s initial thoughts and a primarily mission during this stage.
2. The experience and adjustment stage
As the blogger attempts to readjust to things in his immediate surrounding in light of the shift in his life and career, the blogger would occasionally recall the miserable experience of losing his wife to death, but the frequency has ominously reduced. In the meantime, he is able to find inspiration from his past experience, and reaffirms his focus and objective, moving toward resiliency.
3. The transformation and metamorphosis stage
After braving himself in unveiling his inner thoughts, the blogger is able to transcend tidbits of his daily work and the tie with his deceased wife into fond memories, as he gradually moves away from his sorrow, and the swaying of remorse and heartache has gradually subsided.
II.The protection factor of self resilience through the process of blogging
The blogging process comes with the following implicit and explicit resilient protection factors,
1. Implicit resilient protection factors: Which encompass positive cognitive capability, problem-solving capability, positive individual attributes, and emotion-relieving capability. The blogger, when offline, is actively embracing life with a positive take, and constantly searches for ways to break through the impasse, coupled with his inherent stress resistance and setback tolerance, if not for the fact that the blogger is willing to bare his true emotions, through which to release his pressure. The foresaid protection factors have enabled the blogger to steer away from his heartache and pains.
2. Explicit resilient protection factors: which encompass online support from others, and the spotlight effect of the blog. As revealed from the search, the positive feedback from other online bloggers enables the blogger to foster immensurable resident yield, and the interaction of himself online and other bloggers also instills meaning in the blogger, making his life offline to be more fun; the blogging interface has somewhat put the blogger on cener stage, and his blogging process, through the effect of being read by others, compels the blogger to search for more positive and luring blogging subjects in his offline life, hence increasing his self resilient dynamics.
III.The yield of the protection factors to self resilience through the process of blogging
Reviewing the past postings on the blog and the feedback from other bloggers harbors a resilient yield, and through the combined yield of the implicit and explicit protection factors, the blogger’s resilient yield in his offline life continues to grow strong, while the blogger’s constantly reapplying his resilience into the action of blogging, and it is through blogging, the resilient dynamics spawned in the retrospective process in turn harbors a cyclical yield.
