Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 醫療機構管理研究所 === 96 === In the next few decades, the aging of the population will be one of the main problems to deal with in Taiwan. More people will need healthcare services, while there is insufficient skilled manpower to provide these services. Telehomecare services, such as telemonitoring, may provide a cost-effective means of monitoring body functions from a distance while saving time and money. The telehomecare industry, however, is at the initial stage, and most of the companies are lack of implementing and managing experience. The purpose of this study was to analyze the telehomecare industry and its business model. This paper used Freeband Business Blueprint Method(FBBM) to present and analyze telehomecare industry. This FBBM business model consists of four domains, including service domain, technical domain, value-chain domain and finance domain. From this business model, we found that by using one flexible infrastructure of multiple telemonitoring services, infrastructure costs could be shared among multiple services. A partnership between homecare organization, telemonitor center, supplier of monitoring devices and informative communication technical providers is required for efficient telemonitoring provisioning. Furthermore, the analysis showed that these domains need to be balanced to create sufficient economic and customer value. The three key factors to spread telehomecare include high reliability, payment mechanism and cost-effectiveness. Based on our analyses, we suggest the telehomecare industry use FBBM model. Also, the government should set up regulations as soon as possible. Only by gaining the support from the hospitals, companies and the public, will the telehomcare industry have a prosperous future.
