Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 資訊管理系 === 96 === Successful enterprise procurement processes require that people, information, process and application be merged into a cohesive and optimal software architecture, which is described as a service-oriented architecture (SOA). The information management staff applying SOA to their procurement processes will advance their ability and promote themselves as consultants on the enterprise processes. This research aims to explore the benefits of integrating the enterprise procurement processes based on a SOA platform. Through a case study, the benefits found and proved include: decreasing lead time by replacing existing manual processes with the web-enable and standardized procurement processes, reducing the extra cost of procurement, helping buyers focus on the professional skills, preserving the procurement documents, providing the management reports, allowing efficient integration of requirements on demand, and assisting to transfer such an experience more rapidly to other applications. It is also found that the integration of enterprise procurement processes based on SOA brings about influences on information management itself. For example, it makes different specific layers of IT services in order to link separate and distinct functions, integrates heterogeneous applications and platforms into a business service repository, and pilots some more potential applications to other enterprise processes. In addition, this research also reveals the importance and necessity of making action items and information technology (IT) policies for the enterprise before integrating. The enterprise had better make action items and IT policies as a main guide to the integration and development of enterprise processes.
