In this study, ten small scale steel I-beams with different types of beam bracing system and section types were tested under monotonic load to investigate the buckling behavior of beam. For beam bracing, the difference of restraint mode between lateral bracing system and torsional bracing system need to verify. For section types, side cover plates is used to the member. According to test results, following conclusion can be drawn: (1)lateral-torsional buckling deformation of beam can be reduced by lateral bracing system; (2)the buckling deformation can be reduced when side-cover plates were employed to the member; (3)in addition to side-cover plates, it develop superior ductility when reduced type beam-to-column connection is used.
