Observing the characteristic of Industrial design industry: It can present the value of innovative knowledge through industrial design process in makeing use of knowledge. That’s the reason why this research chose “Knowledge Management” in industrial design field as the topic. This research has three steps as follows: (1) to take an industrial design company as a subject,and discuss using conditions and problems of industrial design company in the aspect of design knowledge management. (2) using questionnaire to gather statistic and analyses an industrial designer’s use and cognition of knowledge management system . (3) to understand conditions of searching design knowledge and habits of applying design knowledge by an interview about industrial designers’ needs of knowledge during industrial design process. Through those steps above, this research finds that design company’s knowledge management office (KMO) lacks the plan of interacting platform for designers. And most designers thought the storage of design knowledge in knowledge system nowadays is not worth consultting. This research advances to plan a new communicating platform which aims at KMO through the result of condition of using design knowledge by designers, and to increase the interaction of users and system design knowledge in order to reach the goal of increasing value to design knowledge.
