Thus, the government may enact the bicycle safety regulations, and the requirement of warning bell on the bicycle is under consideration. If the regulation is adopted, it could stimulate the market of the bicycle bell industry. However, the demand of consumers is changed all the time and product life cycle is shortened. Therefore, one way to strengthen firm competitiveness is to accelerate new product development. This research focuses on the improvement in the process of the bicycle bell development. First, Quality Function Deployment (QFD) links the needs of the customer with the capabilities of facility. Next, Design for Manufacture (DFM) is used to enhance the communication between design and manufacturing groups. Then, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is used to find out the potential faults earlier, and to prevent or to reduce the loss of product breakdown.
