Description
Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 資訊管理研究所碩士在職專班 === 96 === This study is to explore IPv6 connection mechanism, offered by Internet Service Provider (ISP), vis-a-vis IPv6 interconnection deployment among domestic enterprises. Enterprise clients are in need of additional costs for establishment and complicated management of interconnection configuration, except for those incompatible with multiple-point networking infrastructure. Hence, this study intended to simulate ISP practically, based on IPv4 VPN networking infrastructure provided by MPLS, so as to induct the RFC 4798 standard (Connecting IPv6 Islands over IPv4 MPLS Using IPv6 Provider Edge Routers) by IETF. The results showed that both IPv4 and IPv6 are transitional and coexisting. The IPv6 interconnection mechanism of MPLS has five merits summarized as follows: (1) The existing ISP infrastructure stays intact. (2) The variation of upgrading for the hardware and software of the ISP infrastructure upgrade can minimize. (3) There is no need for enterprises to configure complicated setting and maintenance. (4) It is compatible well with the existing MPLS IPv4 VPN. (5) It is consistent with the IPv6 multiple-point infrastructure of enterprises. In addition, this study proposed for practical suggestions to ISP as a reference of MPLS for enterprise IPv6 interconnection.
