Discuss the impact by organizational characteristics. 3. Discuss introduction process of CMMI and its impact on organizational effectiveness. This research firstly conducted literature studies aiming on the above purposes, with the main effective factors concluded from above studies to form the questionnaires. We focused on 80 domestic software organizations that have adopted CMMI and sent them questionnaires, its return rate is 52.5%. The results indicated that after introducing & adopting CMMI: 1. Customer satisfaction improved dramatically. 2. Employees’ passion for work increased and they have a greater sense of achievement. However, the effect from this new knowledge learning is not apparent. 3. Project evaluation, development and management have significant improvement. 4. Procedure flow in terms of coordination among the teams improved successfully. 5. Based on different organizations, most system integration firms have adopted CMMI, technology services are the second largest. 6. Based on numbers of employees, most of organizations that have 201-500 employees adopted CMMI. 7. Based on numbers of CMMI specialists in the organization, the study shows that in most cases the organization has 1-2 full time employees, secondly 3-5 full time employees, with no full time employees the most unlikely case. 8. 70% of consultants that were hired to help implementing CMMI have nine or more years experience in the field. 9. However, most organizations are not fully satisfied with consultants’ contribution. 10. After adopting CMMI, more than 70% of the organizations have improved their procedure flow and transformed themselves significantly. 11. Organizational work pattern and CMMI import results are closely related. 12. If the decision maker introducing CMMI was from top management, the dissemination of knowledge and learning results will be higher.
