To implement troop reduction policy, Taiwan has been conducting military personnel reduction plans, known as “Ching Shih Reforms”, since July first, 1997. The number of personnel in the military is reduced significantly, but the amount of workload is still the same. This brings problems to the personnel of the ROC Air Force Academy, such as work overloading, irregular taking day off, physical and emotional exhaustion. “Sports and Leisure activitity”not only can keep boby and mind health,encourage the spirit of teamwork and collaboration, but also reduce pressure from work or daily life.It was proved the complacence from engaging leisure activitity can improve one’s boby and mind health. The research subjects were chosen from the personnel of the ROC Air Force Academy and analyzed the difference of attitude toward leisure l activitity by gender, position, age and education level .The results also give the Academy and Chinese Air Force some suggestion about emphasizing and building correct attitude toward leisure activitity . A stratified purposive sampling was used for selecting respondents. There were 421 effective responds out of 430 respondents were collected. SPSS 12.0 was used for descriptive analysis, single factor analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Chi-square test. The results are as follows.
1. The acknowledging, attitude and engaging of leisure activitity were not affected by gender.
2. There ins’t obvious difference on attitude of leisure a activitity with age.
3. There is obvious difference on acknowledging the attitude of leisure activitity with education level－high school graduates were more than college graduates and PHD .Besides above,there is no obvious difference.
4. There is obvious difference on engaging the attitude of leisure activitity with position－private’s demand of leisure activitity is more than office’s demand.
5. According to the results, we should understand the importance of the attitude toward leisure activitity .We also suggesst the Academy should make leisure activity policies ;insure all units can execute them . By evaluating regularly, not only the trend of engaging leisure activitity can be build, but also increase combat efficiency and unity of corpes.
