Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 建築與都市設計研究所 === 96 === Metropolitans in Taiwan have been promoting MRT systems for theconvenience, commercial values, and real estate values they bring to the citizens.MRT stations have become part of people’s everyday lives. Therefore, it is believedthat MRT stations should function as public recreational area by equipping withmuch more public facilities. Public parks/squares play critical role in the community. They not only provide pportunity for activities and recreation, but also generate landscape to decorate the city. MRT stations are capable of delivering more than those. They generate people and creates commercial opportunity. Also, with proper design, MRT stations will become the landmarks in the communities and attracts visitors. The planning report for public facilities at MRT stations includes theoretical strategies and practical implementations. This research is divided into two stages. The first stage is analyzing and investigating the current condition and community’s need through site investigation and interviewing. The result indicates that 25 public facilities at MRT stations are originally planned. The second stage is the implementation of the 25 public facilities. The implementation strategy uses the “M.R.T. Tan-shui Station Rear Plaza” project as a reference and provides a suitable planning for any specific project. The result deliver 5 implementation strategies. 1. experiencing recreation with nature environment 2. reliving the memory of history 3. providing multi-functional transit station 4. generating community image 5. providing useful gathering place for the community.
