Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 中國大陸研究所碩士在職專班 === 96 === The KMT and the CCP once cooperated in 1937 and 1942 respectively, however, both ended up with military conflicts. In April 2005,Lien Chan, the leader of the KMT,paid his first visit to Mainland China and met with the CCP’s General Secretary Hu Jintao.“The Party Summit”between the KMT and the CCP was held and the agreement of“Joint Vision for Cross-Strait Peaceful Development”was signed during their meeting, which reaffirmed the consensus of “One China and Anti-Independence ”of 1992.It was the first and historical meeting between the leaders of the KMT and the CCP after 56 years confrontation. From 2006,basing on the consensus of the“Lien Hu Meeting ”,the KMT and the CCP held“Cross-Strait Economic and Trade Forum ”, Cross-Strait Agriculture Cooperation Forum ”and “The Third Cross-Strait Economy,Trade and Culture Forum”,etc. After these meetings, the CCP has announced a total of 48 favourable measures towards Taiwan for the united front intention, which includes dimensions of cross-strait transportation, farming and fishing, medical treatment and education. The CCP tried to carry out its guidelines of placing the hope of unification on Taiwanese people, weaken Taiwanese hostility against CCP as well as implement“three war” against Taiwan at the same time by the above-mentionded measures. In recent years, the relations across the Taiwan Strait was“cold”in politics, “warm”in economy, and the ideology was in confronting positions.Although the image of harmonious atmosphere across the strait has been formed with the establishment of the platform of contact, exchange and communmunication between the parties of both sides, the intetion of the CCP’s united front propaganda is still obvious. This dissertation is to examine how and why the CCP started dialogues with Taiwan when cross-strait relations was still rigorous and sensitive. It will focus on the factors, the strategy as well as the future issues and prospects of the dialogues. The study shows that the CCP opposes German or Korean models of integration and realizes the important role played by the opposition party as well as the function it has in the course of unification. Therefore, the CCP ropes in Taiwan''s opposition party with high-class etiquette, produces contradictions between Taiwan''s ruling party and opposition party by the method of polarization, and also entices Taiwanese people and business by providing beneficial measures as well as economic and trade preferential policies. It shows that the CCP not only intends to beset Taiwan with difficulties both at home and abroad, but also attempts to deal with the "Taiwan issue" as a civil war and domestic affair under the framework of "One China" . This research aims to pave the way for future study on the CCP’s united front stratagem on cross-strait relations. Above all, its purpose is to make good use of what have been learned.
