碩士 === 淡江大學 === 教育政策與領導研究所碩士在職專班 === 96 === The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between military colleges and universities presidents’ leadership styles and leadership effectiveness. Questionnaires assessing military colleges and universities presidents’ leadership styles and effectiveness were completed by 320 faculty members. Findings of the study were as follow: 1. Most of the faculty members reported the presidents’ leadership styles were diverse and positive. 2. Most of the faculty members reported their presidents’ leadership effectiveness was good. 3. There were significant differences in military colleges and universities presents’ leadership styles based on faculty members’ age, years of experience and specialties. 4. There were significant differences in the degree of military colleges and universities presents’ leadership effectiveness based on types of the institutions, locations of the institutions, faculty members’ age, military academic credits and years of experience. 5. Military colleges and universities presidents’ leadership style and leadership effectiveness were highly correlated. The study concluded with several suggestions for educational authorities, military colleges and universities presidents and the future researcher.
